PharmWeb Forum Discussion Groups

We have just installed a new mail server at PharmWeb which will result in a
number of improvements to the way the PharmWeb Forum operates. If you use
any of the PharmWeb Discussion Groups you should read this message. The
main changes are as follows:

1) All the web pages used to access the PharmWeb Forum have changed (except
for the North Carolina Mirror site which will be updated next week)

2) Please use the new suffix @www2.pharmweb.net for sending messages to
PharmWeb Forum discussion groups e.g. pharmtech@pharmweb1.man.ac.uk now
becomes pharmtech@www2.pharmweb.net

3) The discussion groups can be accessed using a web interface, or, if you
prefer, by e-mail. You can request a help file by sending a mail message to
requests@www2.pharmweb.net and enter help in the subject field

4) Any messages sent to subscribers of a group from the moderator will
contain the original senders e-mail address in the "From" field rather than
the address of the discussion group

5) All discussion groups also support digests

6) Digest indexing is improved

7) The mail archives have been updated to improve access to archived
e-mail. We suggest that if you want to read a message from the archive page
you open the message in a new window in your browser so that you do not
have to reload the index

This covers the main changes, there are a number of technical improvements
which will allow us to add extra features in the future.

If you have not used the discussion groups for a while, or would like to
see the changes in action, please visit the new pages on the PharmWeb
Discussion Forum at:

The PharmWeb Discussion Forum is a collection of discussion groups and
mailing lists specialising in specific aspects of medicine, pharmacy,
pharmaceutical sciences and health-related issues. The discussion groups
and mailing lists are designed to focus on specific areas and are moderated
to ensure that discussions are within the scope of a particular discussion
group. Messages can be received as either individual e-mail or in the form
of a daily digest. Archives are maintained of all messages posted to
discussion groups and these may be accessed via a discussion groups web
page. Alternatively, use our search engine, PharmSearch, to locate specific
messages. The discussion groups and mailing lists are designed to be easy
to use. If you are interested in a new discussion group please contact us
at PharmWeb.

Best wishes
