I refer you the archives of the is group where the issue of separate beta
lactam facilities was discussed. It is not a simple matter for factors
involved include the historic "ban" set by the CFR and the difficulty of
really getting rid of all the beta lactam from the air handling system
during your cleaning. Arguments about the relatively low level of
penicillin allergy in the population is countered by the severity of the
reaction when exposure does occur. Look over the discussion in the
archive and think out all the ramifications of campaigning the production
in the same facility (taking into account all the "obstacles" involved)
before you make your decision.
