Bhogi is right that newly manufactured HDPE containers should be relatively
pyrogen free. If they are contaminated with endotoxin in subsequent
processing, you might try STERIS's cleaning agents for endotoxin reduction
on surfaces. In my former life with them, there was data to support the use,
particularly of certain alkaline cleaners, to provide endotoxin reduction in
a cleaning process. Of course, if you try that approach, you will want to
make sure detergent residues are adequately removed.
