No bibliography to offer, but in my experience the following filters are
used:
Drying air: 0.2 micron
Fresh WFI: none
Recycled WFI: 10 micron.
The filter on the Recycled water is only there to trap particulates. If you
fit a microbial filter, there is a danger that you'll collect a colony on
the filter which could grow through and cause contamination problems. For
the same reason there should be no point of use filters on a WFI loop.
