Hi Anita,

The Gas Cylinders are stored outside in a shaded area (to prevent 
direct exposure to sunlight and rain).
You can use a archival pen (that will survive sunlight, water, 
oxidation, and chemical washing, Eg - Uniball 207 Gel ink pen).
