Alan,
It seems to me that the log book for a pH meter need only record the
result of the standardization, which is usually called the slope, and
each batch or lot number of material tested if there is more than one
pH meter in use.
Then the information on the buffers, (pH, expiry date), may be
recorded in the document where the result is recorded, to demonstrate
that the proper buffers were used for the test.
