Derby Regional Hospital is an accredited 56 bed facility that operates
as the major referral centre for the Kimberley Region. The Pharmacy
Department provides a Kimberley-wide service to five other Hospitals
(Broome, Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek, Kununurra and, Wyndham) and 24
Remote Area Community Health centres. As the "Gateway to the Gorges"
Derby offers a relaxed outdoors lifestyle that includes a wide range of
recreational activities, from off road touring up the Gibb River road,
barramundi fishing in the Fitzroy River to enchanted evenings watching
the sun go down over Cable Beach, Broome.
SALARY
Level 6 Hospital Salaried Officers+ Award $42,299-$46,095 plus District
Allowance and Air Conditioning subsidy.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL:
1. Eligibility for registration with the Pharmaceutical Council of WA.
2. Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology including
current drug knowledge and an ongoing commitment to maintaining
currency of knowledge
4. Prepared to travel extensively within the region.
5. Current 'A' Class Driver's Licence.
DESIRABLE:
1. Previous experience in hospital pharmacy
2. Experience as Clinical Pharmacist.
3. Computer literacy
DUTIES:
To provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service to the Derby Regional
Hospital and a consultative pharmaceutical resource to the West and East
Kimberley Regions including Wyndham, Broome, Kununurra, Halls Creek and,
Fitzroy Crossing.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
In accordance with the Hospital Salaried Officers Award.
