Re: Pharmacist role

Dear All,

I am not very familiar with the topic, but any producing industry in
the Netherlands must have a pharmacist as supervisor (by law).
There is no seperate education for pharmacist in industry. They
mainly deal with the supervision (GMP) of the production and also
with the registration procedures. Basically however there are very
few 'innovative' industries in the Netherlands (apart from Duphar and
Akzo/Organon). But we do have a number of generic producers as
well. As far as I know few pharmacists are also involved with the
marketing departments to co-ordinate the effeorts towards
pharmacists, or to develop pharmaceutical care/disease
management protocols.
