Hello Members,
I am writing to ask what is the common practice/perspective on
validating and qualifying ATCC reference microorganisms for a USP
microbiological testing laboratory. A couple of specific questions are:
1. Is the stock culture received from ATCC validated to show that
environmental conditions support growth and minimize
variability, and then periodically qualified afterwards without further
validation?
2. Does anyone have references or can give examples of how the
validation(s) is (are) performed, as well as how often performed- if the
practice is that validation gets repeated on a periodic basis?
Any information or perspective is greatly appreciated.
