I would like to hear from anyone who has attemped to comply with the
guidelines on heat sterilisation of non-aqueous liquids, for silicon
antifoams. This is in the context of large scale use, for feeding to
fermentations.
In particular: Has anyone sucessfully applied the 'dry heat sterilisation'
method, or it's equivalent - extended time at lower temperatures?
Did this have detrimental effects on the product?
What methods were used to validate the process?
Also, for those currently using the more 'traditional' approach of holding
at 121deg C for a period, has anyone managed to qualify that this was
acceptable for maintaining the sterility of their fermentation?
Many thanks
Kathryn Coyle.
