About PharmLine                          i

Started in 1978 as a co-operative venture between UK regional drug information centres, Pharm-lineŽ is a bibliographic database on pharmacy practice and the clinical use of drugs which now comprises about 110,000 abstracts from major English language pharmaceutical and medical journals.

All the abstracts are indexed for efficient retrieval, using keywords from the specially-developed Pharm-lineŽ Thesaurus. The Thesaurus is also used by many drug information pharmacists to index their in-house information.

Pharm-line is available to both NHS and other subscribers as a CD-ROM using CAIRS Retriever software and is updated monthly.

An NHSnet version can be searched on-line if you have a NHSnet connection.

Dialog Corp also offers on-line access as the LINE file on Datastar and File 174 on Dialog , both with weekly updates.
